It easy to say that flower arranging is a subjective and personal thing and indeed there is a lot of truth and wisdom in this idea. However, for the inexperienced arranger it is easy to fall into simple but basic errors that can make an arrangement appear very unappealing, amateur or just plain wrong. If you keep faithful to a few fundamental ideas and concepts that we teach at our school here at SOLOMON BLOEMEN, you will be able to create designs that are eye catching, sophisticated and very satisfying to make. Inspiration
We can take inspiration from many different and varied places: fashion, photography, people, architecture; all can be muses for our designs. Floral design does not exist in a vacuum but should be an integral part of our day to day lives. To make good designs, we need to constantly be open to, and be inspired by, new ideas.
Observation
We must always take care to observe all of the plants and materials that we use in our arrangements. They each have different characteristics, be it in their form, colour or fragrance. When you combine and arrange them, just keep in mind that every single stem of flower is different. With this fundamental idea in mind, you will get them working well as a team, adding dynamic interest to your arrangement.
Design and Implementation.
Of course, the final element that we need is the technical knowledge to turn a basic idea from a sketch into a real floral design. We need a wide range of technical knowledge and experience in different disciplines to ensure we can consistently create quality, novel and attention grabbing arrangements. These might range from conditioning plant materials all the way to setting concrete and drilling plaster boards. Only once have we mastered all of these techniques, can we be confident and adept in turning the images in our mind into real and stunning arrangements.

觀察
我們必須細心觀察花藝創作中所用到的花葉素材，它們無論是形態、顏色還是香味，都各有特點，而當你把它們組合到一起的时候，它們就不再是獨立的個體了，你要巧妙地發揮出它們整體的力量，為你的作品營造出新的趣味。
設計與執行
當然，我們還需要技術知識去把我們的想法落實，變成真正的花藝作品。從處理、養護花葉素材，到設置水泥架構，甚至使用電鑽在石灰板上鑽洞，我們需要具備廣泛的技術知識和實踐經驗，才能始終如一地創作出高質量、新穎矚目的作品。只有當我們完全掌握了所有相關技術，我們才能自信、靈活的把想法轉化為真實、驚艷的作品。
